Why is District 883 Dollars for Scholars here?

Our mission is to provide scholarship opportunities to graduates from District 883 (Rockford High School in Rockford, MN) as they look ahead to their post-secondary education. All of our DFS scholarships are made possible through donations from local businesses, community members, and community/school organizations as well as fundraising efforts by the DFS committee.

Every donation makes a difference! Donations under $500 (unless designated to a memorial fund) are applied to our general scholarship fund and support multiple Dollars for Scholars general scholarships. Donations of $500 or more enable the donor to define the criteria for a named scholarship, if desired. All scholarship awards are valid for redemption for three years and are paid directly to the school the student will be attending to ensure they will be used for educational expenses. 

All graduating seniors at Rockford High School who meet scholarship eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply.  The high point of each scholarship year is the Senior Awards Ceremony held annually in May where we announce our Dollars for Scholars recipients.  

 

What's Happening

  • The DFS scholarship deadline for the Class of 2026 is Friday, March 27, 2026. Student profiles should be completed by this time and all scholarship applications submitted. 
  • Our evaluation committee will anonymously review and score the student profiles and scholarship recipients will be identified by early in May. 
  • Join us to see scholarships presented to recipients at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony on May 13, 2026 at 7:00pm in the high school auditorium. Everyone is welcome!

At the Class of 2025 Senior Awards Night, District 883 Dollars for Scholars awarded $24,200 in scholarships to 29 deserving candidates. The Dollars for Scholars board and our donors/sponsors would like to congratulate all of our DFS and community scholarship recipients and wish all graduates the best of luck in their future endeavors!!
